Doug Swirsky is an experienced board director and senior life sciences executive who has led organizations through strategic inflection points—from financing and clinical development to corporate restructuring and exits. He has served as CEO, CFO, and director at multiple public companies, including as Chairman of the Boards of Fibrocell Science and Cellectar Biosciences. His leadership emphasizes disciplined capital allocation, operational rigor, and governance frameworks that align management, shareholders, and scientific stakeholders.Doug’s career combines nearly a decade in healthcare investment banking with senior operating roles in both public and private biotechnology companies. He has held executive positions at MaxCyte, AavantiBio, Rexahn Pharmaceuticals, and GenVec, where he served as President and CEO during a corporate turnaround. Across his board service, he has served on and chaired all major standing committees, including audit, compensation, and nominating/governance.Doug is a CPA (Maryland), CFA charterholder, and NACD Directorship Certified™. He received his M.B.A. from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and his B.S. in business administration from Boston University.
